As a child Nicky spent her weekends at her grandparents farm in Marlborough, and it was there that her love of animals began. Now, Nicky paints from her studio in the picturesque village of Hurst Green in the Ribble Valley, and can often be found-out-and-about sketching with her companion, Max the dog, by her side.
Traditional subject matter such as hares, foxes and livestock are at the heart of her paintings, which she creates mainly in pastel. With a playful use of line and colour she produces delightful, contemporary artworks full of character and charm.
Nicky has exhibited far and wide and over the years has won many awards. Her artwork has been selected several times for inclusion in the Annual Pastel Society Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London and she has featured in several publications, including the Pastel Journal, a highly respected US publication devoted entirely to the medium of pastel.
