Jonathan Wells

This summer we have two very striking paintings of silver birches from Jonathan Wells. They have a touch of the abstract about them and the interest created by the detailing of the bark is echoed in the distressed silver frames.

Artist Details: The son of Irish parents, Jonathan was born in Liverpool in 1945. He trained at Art School in the North of England before traveling and working in Europe and Asia. Jonathan then settled in Scotland and developed his gift for painting. His slightly impresssionistic style is now well recognised and he creates a pleasing and clear statement with the emphasis on light and colour. Work by this first class artist can be found in private and public collections in the Middle East and West Africa as well as across the Atlantic in Canada and the United States of America.
