Luis Valasco

Artist Details:Luis Velasco was born in Barcelona in 1945. He is a follower of the painter Vila Puig de Sabadell. Luis studied in Barcelona at the College of Saint George and then travelled extensively in Europe painting still life, seascapes and finally landscapes which are his forte.

He takes his inspiration from the Catalan region with its dramatic changes of colour in the landscape. Luis is a natural at transferring light and colour to his canvas with a single masterful stroke. It is this technique of laying down colour on his canvas with a brush, palette knife or finger that gives his impressionistic style the edge.

Luis's work is extremely well established in his native Spain where he has numerous exhibitions and his work is on display in many galleries.
