Mark van Wingerden

In Mark's two new pictures, he continues to use a credit card to get the effect he wants from the layers of paint.

Artist Details: Mark was born in London but spent most of his formative years in Sussex, visiting the coast whenever possible. He received a BA Hons in Environmental Management at North London Polytechnic and after various occupations became a fireman. He is now devoting more time to his art and paints whenever possible.

He lives in Christchurch, Dorset and uses the surrounding countryside and ever changing coastal landscapes as a backdrop to many of his compositions. He works in gouche or acrylic and has recently started working with larger canvases to great effect.

He has exhibited in local galleries and last year won the Brian Mead Trophy at Christchurch Arts Guilds 60th Exhibition.
