James Tytler

Artist Details:James was born in 1948, and he developed a keen interest in painting at a very early age. After studying at Greys School of Art in Aberdeen, he taught art and design to secondary school students around the country. In 1978 he left teaching to pursue his ambition of becoming a full time artist.

He experimented with different mediums and for a time worked in pastel concentrating on Edwardian scenes of children playing and lazy summers. Since then he has changed to quite a different style and feel of painting. Now working in acryllic he is painting strong mediterranean landscapes and seascapes in bold colours with a simplicity which sometimes borders on the abstract. Some of his work has been published as limited edition prints.

Now James lives in Middlesex, and has an enviable and well deserved reputation .
