Cherry
Thompson Born in London in 1949, Cherry spent much of her childhood travelling from one country to another as her father was serving in the RAF. Although always interested in Art, In the mid 60's she supplemented her income by becoming London's youngest croupier. In 1970 she began painting professionally while living in the Lebenon. This was followed by a spell in New York and then in the Mediterranean, which has clearly been an inspiration for her work. She returned to England in 1980 and again took up painting professionally. Her spare time has been devoted to caring for unwanted animals and she has established a donkey sanctuary. As a result of her time abroad she has managed to capture that wonderful feeling of escapism in her pictures.
