Will Rochfort

Last Summer's regatta at Henley is the inspiration behind these paintings from this talented young artist who has recently moved back to this area.

Artist Details: Will was born in 1985 and grew up in Lymington. He graduated from Kingston University in 2008 with a degree in Fine Art and while there attended some excellent life drawing classes. His style of painting has developed from a love of Illustrations and a study of 20th Century artists such as Degas, his current favourite. His paintings display a bold use of colour with a touch of the abstract in the markings of the background, giving them a distinctive style.

In 2008 he was invited to become an Official Artist for the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics. As part of the programme he is producing paintings tailored to the Olympic theme for an exhibition that is touring up and down the counrty until the Games. He is also working on portraits of Ade Adepital MBE and Zac Purchase MBE (rower) and other gold medalists as part of the project.

As a young artist his style is progressing and in his own words: "Knowing that such changes can happen excites me about the future and the possibilities of where my artwork will go."
