Helen Rhodes

We have three new pictures from Helen in November and are expecting more in the run up to Christmas.

Artist Details: Helen's work has a unique style. It combines intensely rich colours, textures and patterns with naïve compositions. Most of her original paintings have torn edges hinting that each image is a fragment of a larger painting giving an element of preciousness to each piece. The richness of her work is achieved through a lengthy process involving different techniques and paints. The extra depth of colour is given by a final layer of varnish

Born in Staffordshire in 1970, Helen studied textile design at Loughborough College of Art and Design but it was her painting she continued with, winning various awards including Best Up and Coming Artist by the Fine Art Trade Guild in 1999. Her work has been reproduced as cards and as prints by De Montfort Fine Art which has helped build her reputation. In 2006 she decided to publish her own work and exhibit her originals in selected galleries.
