Robin Mullen

Robin returns to us with a new display of paintings including a new style of flower abstract and two shimmering London street scenes in muted tones. The latest two pictures to arrive have a nautical theme.

Born in 1962 Robin Mullen explored diverse artistic careers including design and teaching, until he found his creative desire to paint was too strong and he held his first exhibition at the Maltings in Farnham, Surrey, in 1987. It was a sell out within hours. Robin's future was settled. His next move was typical of Robin's rebellious nature and abandoning the Corporate World he threw himself vigorously into developing his current style.

Robins inspiration is a complex of his own life experiences intertwined with emotions stirred by other media such as movies, books and music. His studio is an Aladdin's Cave and a place of vibrant inspiration. He is equallly at home with a wide range of mediums and styles but his intense passion is for his truly remarkable and unique abstract work developed over a number of years of painstaking experimentation and enhancement to his technique. His work is dramatic in the extreme and combines sensuous texture and the vigorous application of paint and other media creating images that reach new levels of colour expression.
