Artist Details: Born in Romania in 1957, Vasile had a difficult creative upbringing working within the confines of a strict communist regime.

He was a nonconformist and against the norms of the day was not drawn into any artistic group or movement perferring to concentrate on the development of his distinctive semi-abstract style inspired by music and nature.

With his strong personality, perseverance and tenacity, he has never experienced periods of doubt. 'Each painting is a new lesson in painting for me and I will not stop evolving`.

He decided to leave Romania in 1992 and chose to settle in De Panne in Belgium. He has since been painting using bold primary colours and deliberate simplicity of form combining to create a powerful stylistic statement.
