Jill Fry

Artist Details: Jill is a local artist living nearby at Holbury. She was born in 1961 and by the age of seven was already showing ability in sketching and drawing. She left formal education with a Diploma in graphic design and illustration in 1982. Jill then progressed through various full time jobs as an illustrator including working for 2 years as a wildlife illustrator for the countryside Education Trust at Beaulieu and 2 years as an illustrator and designer for a commercial design studio.

She is a very versatile artist and has a City and Guilds certificate in quilting. Recently she has been working as a community art teacher and received a national award in recognition of her work with both young and elderly people

The influence of her quilting is shown in the collage effect she creates with her paintings but now she is also creating quilted pictures.
