Stephen Foster

In Stephen's new pictures he continues to explore the local landscape and is excited about how he can express it in the abstract form.

Artist Details Stephen lives in Dorset and is strongly influenced by the Purbecks and the Dorset Coast. He has been a professional landscape painter for over twenty five years but it is only recently, after sketching this landscape for many years, he has found the freedom to explore new ideas by taking out of the landscape the components that interest him and putting them together in a uniquely different way. He now focuses on elements such as interesting rock structures and these he combines with the sea and often bleak Dorset sky to give a personal vision of his surroundings.

Steven's degree is in History with a specific interest in Art History and before university, he was a professional musician. He has exhibited widely and has paintings in five continents.
